Scheduling an appointment for the first time can be a nerve-wracking experience but it does not have to be. We are here to walk you through some of the things that might happen during your first appointment.
Before coming down to our office, we provide a free online consultation if you are looking to get braces. You will be required to fill out an online form here before accessing the consultation. Once you have filled out the form, a member of our team will reach out to you.
Here are other things that happen when you decide to come in for your first physical appointment:
Paperwork and Oral Examination
You will be required to fill out relevant paperwork at the reception before seeing the orthodontist. This paperwork will contain some personal information and your dental history so far.
After completing the paperwork, you will proceed to the orthodontist’s office where you will have a proper session involving questions and a dental examination. The questions will be related to your condition and the results you are expecting once your treatment has been completed.
The dental exam will involve a digital scan of your teeth to create a 3D replica which will be sent to our lab to print your model.
Discussing Treatment Options
After getting insight into your dental issue, your orthodontist will then discuss the treatment options available to you. You can ask as many questions as you can and we recommend that you raise all your concerns because they will be taken into consideration.
Creating a Personalized Treatment Plan
Depending on the discussion, your treatment option may be traditional braces or Invisalign. You may also decide whether you want your braces to be removable or bonded to your teeth. Your needs differ from those of the other patients so your orthodontist will make sure that your treatment plan is formed based on your needs and level of comfort.
Payment
Your preferred mode of payment and the total cost of your treatment will also be discussed with your orthodontist. We accept most insurance plans so you should have little to no issues with payment. Our team will reach out to your insurance company to confirm that your insurance policy covers your treatment plan.
However, if you require a different mode of payment, we can always work something out for you. Our prices are always fair.
Scheduling Your Next Appointment
Once payment has been decided on, your orthodontist will inform you when your treatment plan is to begin. Some patients begin immediately while some have to wait for a little while. You will then be given a date for your next appointment.
We aim to make this process as stress-free as possible for you. Though you may experience a little discomfort once your treatment begins, your orthodontist will walk you through managing it.
